DESCRIPTION:Every child, teenager and parent who starts the childhood cancer journey, have hope that their child will survive and live a long, happy, healthy, and fulfilled life. As a global childhood cancer community, we believe that increased awareness and accurate information and knowledge can empower all of us to recognize the early warning signs of childhood cancer, make informed choices about our children’s health and counter fears and misconceptions about childhood cancer.\nDuring the prevention, care, and management; as well as the rehabilitation and integration of survivors, there are many role-players that contribute to the success thereof. Parents and families have hope when they trust their children and teenagers #throughyourhands – but who are these angels that impact on the childhood cancer journey and how are they part of the journey?\nOn the 15th of February 2022 and in celebration of International Childhood Cancer Day 2022 CHOC will host a webinar to pay tribute to the medical team, healthcare workers and the multi-disciplinary team involved in the childhood cancer journey of hope. They will not only share the positive impact they have on the lives of children/adolescents with cancer, but also their personal experiences of the journey.  You will get to know the team, where they fit in and how they impact on the journey of hope.\nPeter Ndoro – well known TV and radio presenter will be in conversation with Prof David Reynders (Peadiatric Oncologist), Sr Belinda Austin (Childhood Cancer Survivor and Practice Manager in a Paediatric Oncology Unit), Mawethu Bell (CHOC Social Worker) and Iris Varty(CHOC Cow and Volunteer).\nOur keynote speaker will be HRH Princess Dina Mired from Jordan – global patron for SIOP and a passionate advocate for childhood cancer.\n \nJoin us in celebrating ICCD #throughyourhands – a Journey of Hope.\n
