RESEARCH & TREATMENT

Many CAC2 member organizations fund essential research initiatives across the spectrum of development–from basic research through to clinical trials–and across the spectrum of topics–from data sharing to crucial medicines to psychosocial standards to survivorship. We support our members’ involvement in all aspects of research related to childhood and AYA cancer by making it easier to keep up with emerging trends and to work together more effectively.

Research is crucial to discovering better treatments, minimizing side effects, increasing quality of life during and after treatment, and, most importantly, finding cures. Our efforts are important because of the large and persistent gap between the need for funding and the money available for childhood cancer research projects.

CAC2 member organizations with a research interest or focus are encouraged to participate in the work of the CAC2 Research Interest Group. Notes from the 2019 meeting of the working group are available here. Contact Research Group Liaison Amy Weinstein at if you would like more information on how to be involved with CAC2 research initiatives.
