As Foundation Match makes its debut, this webinar gave an opportunity to learn more about the platform. In addition, a moderated discussion explored a few of the different motives and approaches that CAC2 member organizations that co-fund research adopted and learned from an investigator about how funding collaboration has the potential to improve the research landscape. Access to the most promising pediatric cancer treatments is often achieved by participating in clinical trials. And private, nonprofit organizations have become a significant source of funding for these trials that are often left behind by industry. In celebration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we hosted Melisse Skelton (CureSearch) and Oscar Ortiz (SebastianStrong) who used the occasion of our September CAC2 All-member webinar to explain the latest project that is developing in the CAC2 Project Incubator. PUT_CHARACTERS_HERE We learned about a new project proposed by CAC2 members to create a searchable website for organizations with like-minded missions to connect, collaborate, fund research and other projects with a goal of preventing duplication of effort and creating a more coordinated funding effort to support researchers. On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, CAC2 hosted an All-Member webinar featuring guest panelist Lynne Davies discussing, exploring, and explaining: Analyzing the International Cancer Research Portfolio (ICRP). One of our CAC2 projects, grounded in our Research Interest pillar, was to provide a way to keep track of research funded by our members. The result was that we chose to join and participate in the International Cancer Research Partnership (ICRP). The ICRP portfolio contains over 70,000 historical and current awards from funding organizations in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia.
